Once I knew I was going to be doing an exhibition, and had booked a space and a date I booked a video team and photographer to cover the event on my behalf.
I’ve asked the team from F8 Creates, an agency I’ve worked with for years to cover the opening for me, so that I have evidence of the event taking place, and something to look back on when I’m not mad with prep worries.
I have two shoots booked in, one for the hang, and one for the opening event.
I’ve also, after much dithering, finally decided on the wine. I’ve ordered through Majestic on the basis that I can get free glass rental and their wine is usually a pretty solid choice.
It’s hard to estimate how much to order given the non-rsvp nature of the event, but I can return up to 25% of the order for credit. Given that I’ve invited upwards of 200 people, but expect less than half to actually come and many will be driving, I’ve plumbed for 30 bottles, 18 red, 12 white, a box of beer, and 72 glasses. (I went with a Puglian Primitivo because I wouldn’t mind getting stuck with it, and a sauvignon blanc. which I like less but would certainly drink if I had to…)
